Day School Curriculum Puppy Pre-School This program runs for four consecutive weeks or until your puppy is 20 weeks of age. Bark Tutor Puppy Pre-School includes 4 weeks of FREE group Puppy Kindergarten classes. The Pre-School facilitates house training; beginning “sit, down, and come”; leash manners; crate training; socialization with other dogs, people,novel objects and sounds; nipping and rough play; aggression prevention; and "sit for greeting". Puppies enrolled in Puppy Pre-School will arrive at Bark Tutor Monday through Friday between the hours of 7:00 and 9:00 AM. Your puppy will be socialized with other puppies and participate in a structured day of training each day. Pick-up from school is between 4:00 and 6:00 PM. Please plan to spend a few moments each day reviewing your puppy’s report card and homework assignment with your instructor before going home. Tuition is $675 for this four-week program. High School This program runs for five consecutive days and is appropriate for dogs five months and older. Bark Tutor’s High School program introduces basic cues such as “down” and “stand” on hand command, and “come” at 10 feet, with no distractions. Your dog will also work on leash manners, impulse control, and foundation behaviors. Graduates of the High School program would be reliable in low distraction areas. When enrolled, you will drop your dog off at Bark Tutor Monday through Friday between the hours of 7:00 and 9:00 in the morning. Your dog will be socialized with other dogs and participate in a structured day of training each day. Pick-up from school is between 4:00 and 6:00 in the afternoon. Plan to spend a few moments each day reviewing your dog’s report card and homework assignment with your instructor before going home. Pre-requisites include attendance to an Orientation session immediately prior to your scheduled program. Tuition is $200 for this one-week program. College Your dog’s Undergraduate, Graduate and Masters Diploma Programs can be achieved in one to three consecutive weeks. With each week of the College program, your dog will build on previously learned skills and behaviors. Every week, your dog will be able to better master impulse control and focused attention with increasing levels of distraction. Graduates of Bark Tutor’s Masters Program (three consecutive College level weeks) would be able to “come” from 50 feet, with heavy distractions, attain a superior level of impulse control, and respond to cues and “stay” on a rug for 15 minutes while handler is up to 20 feet away. When enrolled, you will drop your dog off at Bark Tutor Monday through Friday between the hours of 7:00 and 9:00 in the morning. Your dog will be socialized with other dogs and participate in a structured day of training each day. Pick-up from school is between 4:00 and 6:00 in the afternoon. Pre-requisites include graduation from Bark Tutor’s High School program. Tuition is $175 each week for this one to three week program. Group Training Classes Bark Tutor’s Group Training Classes are available four evenings each week. Saturday classes will be available, beginning mid-May 2008. Please visit our Calendar for our class schedule and availability, and level descriptions. Attendance at a New Student Orientation is required before starting Group Classes at Bark Tutor. Indoor Dog Park for Small Breeds Bark Tutor is proud to offer an indoor “bark park” for small breed dogs up to 25 pounds. Small dogs can meet and play on Sundays anytime between the hours of noon and 4:00pm. Cost to attend the indoor play park is $5.00 per dog. Doga Classes Doga is a form of yogic practice which has been specifically adapted for dogs; a practitioner of doga is known as a dogi. In a doga session, dogs and their owners work through a series of yoga poses together; the session may also include things like meditation and eye-gazing to strengthen the bond between human and dog. Classes can be found in many parts of North America and Europe, lasting anywhere from 60 to 75 minutes, and designed for everyone from novice dogis to experienced dogis. Classes are $15 per class and discounted passes are available when purchased in 4 week sessions. Please see our schedule for times (classes are divided by size of dog). |
