Graduates of Bark Tutor’s Masters Program (three consecutive College level weeks) would be able to “come” from 50 feet, with heavy distractions, attain a superior level of impulse control, and respond to cues and “stay” on a rug for 10 minutes while handler is up to 20 feet away. Plan to spend a few moments each day reviewing your dog’s report card and homework assignment with your instructor before going home. Pre-requisites include graduation from Bark Tutor’s High School program. Tuition is $200 each week for this one to three week program.

Group Training Classes

Bark Tutor is a family friendly training school that believes in using the most up-to-date, dog-friendly training methods. Our progressive, train at your own pace levels format focuses on house manners and problem prevention along with basic obedience skills

In our classes you will not only learn how to create a vocabulary of cues for your dog, but how to prevent and resolve common nuisance behaviors. Training is all about motivation and we will be using food as our primary reward in class. As you progress through the program we will show you how to incorporate other types of rewards at home and in daily situations.

We encourage owners to be proactive about rewarding their dog's desirable behavior and to set their dog up for success. This does not mean that our training methods are permissive, rather, it places the responsibility on the owner to manage their dog's environment so that the dog is not able to make mistakes until he is more reliably trained. We do believe that there is a time and place for the effective use of punishment, however, using punishment based training techniques inhibits your dogs learning process and owners shoould know how to use punishment effectively.

We have a variety of Group Classes available at Bark Tutor. They include: Puppy Socialization, Levels 1-2-3 Obedience, Bark Tutor Kids' Club, Therapy Dog Preparation, and NEW Rally O classes.

You have the option of purchasing an 8 class or 16 class training pass which pays for a block of time to train your dog in weekly classes. An 8 class training pass is $150.00 and expires three months after the first visit. The 16 class training pass is $270.00 and expires 6 months after the first visit. If you aren't sure about whether this is the right training school for you and your dog, come meet us and learn more about our program with no obligation.
